Shares 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 Since its shadow drop last week , Bethesda’s revamped classic RPG The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered has been raking in the numbers in terms of player counts, surpassing the four million player mark within a week across PC, consoles and Game Pass. Celebrating the occasion via a post on its social media pages , Bethesda thanked players for their support, writing, “We are so grateful to the over 4 million of you that have already ventured into Cyrodiil with Oblivion Remastered . Thank you!”, with an accompanying image of the Hero of Kvatch’s face with the text “Thanks to over IV million players” overlayed.

Still, other sites like Steam provide more concrete details of the game’s sales performance, and it’s no slouch either. According to the platform, the game achieved a 24-hour peak of 216,784 players at the time of writing, and currently ranks sixth on its Most-played Games list , only below massive multiplayer titles like Marvel Rivals and Dota 2 , which still remain the undefeated champions of the platform.
Still, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered currently tops the list as a single-player title, even beating Baldur’s Gate 3 , which recently released its final major update , Patch 8. It’s not just player charts that the title is dominating, though, as it also ranks second on Steam’s Global Top Selling Games list , just below the free-to-play Counter-Strike 2 , surpassing Sandfall Interactive’s Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 , which has also seen massive success considering the two released in the same timeframe. All things considered, this shouldn’t come as a surprise, considering how beloved the original 2006 RPG was, with Bethesda proving that nostalgia is indeed a powerful motivation to push sales, with such staggering numbers of players returning to Cyrodiil to relive the adventure all over again, this time in a whole new light.
