The Diamond Heist review: Guy Ritchie’s new Netflix docuseries is full of the usual gangster guff

Guy Ritchie just can’t help himself. It doesn’t matter how many times he tries to do something different, whether it’s in the form of his two Sherlock Holmes romps, The Man from U.N.C.L.E, the live-action Aladdin for Disney or the ghastly embarrassment that was Swept Away, a vanity vehicle for his then wife Madonna.

In the end, he always circles back to the same old geezer-gangster guff that made his name in the 90s. The only difference this time is that the geezer-gangsters who feature in The Diamond Heist (Netflix) are real ones and not actors trying to look tough..
