As of this writing, more details about the animated feature are kept under wraps, but the story is expected to spotlight the rich folklore of the Philippines. Crawford took to his Instagram page to celebrate the news, describing “Forgotten Island” as a “personal story” for both him and Mercado.

This has been a passion project of ours for the past four years, and now we’re official! ‘Forgotten Island’ promises to be a wild adventure, but it is also a very personal story for both of us.
