The Boys favourite Antony Starr headlined a dark horse of a show titled Banshee before securing his career-defining role as the superpowered Homelander. Created by Jonathan Tropper and David Schickler, this action-packed crime thriller aired between 2013 and 2016 on Cinemax before finding a broader audience on Amazon Prime Video . Unfolding in the eponymous Amish town, Starr plays ex-convict and master thief Lucas Hood who assumes the identity of a murdered sheriff while being hunted by crime lord Rabbit.

In Banshee, Lucas dishes out a brutal brand of justice and attempts to get things back on track with ex-lover Anastasia, who herself adopted a new identity during his imprisonment. Over in the Facebook group Netflix Bangers, Banshee was recently unearthed by a fresh generation of TV bingers. "This is a good series, a must-watch, you don't even get bored for a minute in this show, and the bonus content is a lot of X-rated scenes (I think dude slept with every girl in the town), along with a good plot," announced one fan.

Those who've already enjoyed the four-season drama weighed in too, with one fan rating it a nine out of 10 and calling it "the most underrated series of all time." Another fan gushed: "One of the best series I've ever watched, it's fantastic," while another said it was "very addictive" and "in my top three series of all time." Another Banshee recommendation read: "The brutality in this series is unreal in certain scenes.

...

this series is addictive." Starr spoke to Collider around the time of Season 1's release and waxed lyrical about its creative team. "Oftentimes, you read these pilot scripts that come through for American work and they don't sing to you," he said.

"I've got to be honest, not many of them ignite the flame or give you that burning feeling of, 'Oh, God, I really want to be a part of this.' "This is not the first one, but in that last pilot season, this was the first one where I went, 'Holy, I really want to be a part of this,' because of the material and because of the people involved." Banshee and The Boys are available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.
