Each week, global beauty and wellness director Jessica Diner brings you her Director’s Cut: a breakdown of new and noteworthy products to add to your arsenal. Hermès Rouge Brillant Silky Lipstick Shine Hermès Rouge Brillant Silky Lipstick Shine Hermès Is it a lip balm? Is it a lipstick? The truth is, it’s a little bit of both. The new Rouge Brillant Silky Lipstick Shine from Hermès has the most sublime texture, and thanks to all the nourishing oils and butters in its formula, it glides on like a dream.
Available in 15 shades – which are more like tints – my hero is Rouge H: a suits-all burgundy red that hasn’t left my handbag (or my lips) since we met. Beauty Pie Micro Caviar Overnight Moisture Mask Beauty Pie Beauty Pie Micro Caviar Overnight Moisture Mask Beauty Pie If the notion of a caviar skincare product sounds luxurious, that’s because it absolutely is. This oil-in-serum mask is my favourite recent launch from Beauty Pie, giving my other favourite masks from the brand ( Fruitizyme+ and Wonderscrub ) a run for their money.
When my skin is feeling dry or dull, I slather this on and leave it overnight for a rich shot of hydration. Nails Inc It’s Topless 1-Step Gel Manicure Nails Inc It’s Topless 1-Step Gel Manicure Amazon This new launch from Nails Inc is ideal when you need a speedy at-home (or at-desk) nail touch-up between manicures. With innovative new technology that integrates the finish, shine and endurance of a top coat, this is a one-and-done wonder.
Merit Flush Balm Merit Merit Flush Balm Merit This Flush Balm – my ride-or-die blusher – is now available at Sephora along with the rest of Merit’s line-up. The smash-hit brand has staged a full-scale takeover of my make-up bag since it launched in the UK in 2023, and with British distribution growing, stay tuned for more activations and exclusives. Type Bea Sea Salt Texture Mist Type Bea Sea Salt Texture Mist Sephora As someone with fine hair, I adore a sea salt spray for a little extra body, but I’m not a fan of the crispiness that certain formulas bring.
Enter Type Bea’s mist, which delivers all of the texture but none of the crunch. I’ve been using it every morning on dry hair, and it makes any styling superfluous. 10/10.

Charlotte Tilbury Eyeshadow Palette in Super Neutral Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte Tilbury Eyeshadow Palette in Super Neutral Charlotte Tilbury If ever make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury wanted to distill herself into an eyeshadow palette, then this would be it. Inspired by the professional palettes that herself and her team would have in their kit, they are now available to all in the form of six limited-edition colourways – this particular one being the most universally flattering, and my absolute favourite. Augustinus Bader X Bonne Brosse Augustinus Bader Augustinus Bader X Bonne Brosse Augustinus Bader x Bonne Brosse This is the ultimate “French girl” cool collab between skin and haircare giant Augustinus Bader (whose haircare line is infused with their proprietary cell renewal complex, TFC8) and the French born-and-bred prescriptive hair brush line, La Bonne Brosse.
This particular brush has been designed to softly massage the scalp and stimulate blood circulation so that when used in tandem with the Bader haircare line, it can promote hair regrowth at multiple stages of the hair grooming cycle. Gucci Westman Sun Tone Bronzing Drops Westman Atelier Sun Tone Bronzing Drops Westman Atelier I couldn’t be more excited or personally invested in this new launch from make-up artist Gucci Westman for her brand Westman Atelier. This featherlight liquid bronzer is fluid and matte, so much so that it’s almost completely undetectable, leaving you with a natural golden glow that some might be fooled into thinking was the result of a holiday or stint of extreme R&R.
If you are lacking in either of the above, this is absolutely the next best thing. Available in four shades to work with all skin and undertones. Sunday Riley Aquamarine Melt Cleansing Gel-Balm Sunday Riley Aquamarine Melt Cleansing Gel-Balm Cult Beauty I love to use a cleansing gel in the morning and a balm in the evening and this new launch from Sunday Riley ticks both of those boxes.
It pumps out of the bottle as a jelly-balm texture and then melts into oil when worked into the skin with water. It dissolves make-up in a jiffy and leaves skin feeling soft and supple. Olaplex 0.
5 Scalp Longevity Treatment Olaplex Olaplex 0.5 Scalp Longevity Treatment Olaplex Another smash hit scalp product launch this week in the form of this leave-in treatment from Olaplex. Formulated to protect the skin barrier on the scalp (which, by the way, is as important as that on the face) while promoting a healthy microbiome, think of this as a serum for the scalp that will have long-term benefits.
Augustinus Bader The Hydrogel Face Mask Augustinus Bader Augustinus Bader The Hydrogel Face Mask Augustinus Bader The wait is over. The full face mask of my favourite eye patches is finally here. Infused with the powerhouse patent that runs through all the Bader products TFC8 – leaving this on the skin while watching an episode on Netflix leaves skin feeling soft, supple and ridiculously hydrated.
L’Oréal Paris Paradise Big Deal Mascara L'Oréal Paris L’Oréal Paris Paradise Big Deal Mascara Boots As the name might suggest, this mascara is kind of a big deal. With impressive “no clump” claims, I put it to the test, layering it up extensively – and do you know what? It didn’t clump. Lashes were lengthened and separated but without a dramatic full lash effect.
This is my kind of mascara. Jo Malone London Taif Rose Cologne Intense Jo Malone Jo Malone London Taif Rose Cologne Intense Cult Beauty Give yourself a gift this Valentine’s Day in the form of this limited-edition rose-based cologne. A combo of amber, coffee and damask rose, it’s a floral scent that has depth and intensity without being too pretty.
Adore. Goop Glow Microderm Instant Glow Exfoliator Goop Goop Glow Microderm Instant Glow Exfoliator Revolve The Goop team were in London this week to celebrate their collaboration with Oh My Cream!, the clean beauty concept store. There, I was introduced to the Goop skincare line.
Having used this mechanical and liquid exfoliator pre-shower in the morning, I can confirm that radiant results were achieved. This will now be a once-weekly mask for instant glow-ups. Westman Atelier Lit Up Highlight Stick in Petal Westman Atelier Westman Atelier Lit Up Highlight Stick in Petal Westman Atelier To know (and use) Westman Atelier’s Baby Cheeks Blush Stick in Petal is to love it for its natural and pretty flush.
And now it’s available in three new formats: a Lip Suede Matte Lipstick and a Squeaky Clean Liquid Lip Balm – both of which are delightful – but the third variety is the standout. The Lit Up Stick delivers a sheer wash of pink highlight to the skin, which is honestly quite sensational. Raaie Golden Nectar Manuka Honey Enzyme Cleanser Raaie Raaie Golden Nectar Manuka Honey Enzyme Cleanser Raaie A balmy, moisturising cleanser gets me locked into a brand like nothing else.
This honey-enzyme based variety, from the relatively new but seriously chic Raaie, is absolute heaven to use. It works up into a silky emulsion that dissolves make-up pretty much instantaneously, and leaves skin feeling soft and supple afterwards. Having loved the cleanser so much, I then tried the Cocoon Ceramide Cream, which is equally divine.
La Mer The Night Recovery Concentrate La Mer La Mer The Night Recovery Concentrate La Mer First things first, let’s address the price point. It’s high. So I caveat the following with the acknowledgement that this is only relevant to those who have the means – I really believe that skincare shouldn’t be something that cripples the finances.
All of that said, this night version of La Mer’s iconic concentrate formula is absolutely sensational. I have always been a big fan of La Mer’s formulas, textures and innovations, and this nighttime offering suits my skin to a tee. I have been using it every night this week and woken up to a happy, hydrated, revived complexion.
Dior Addict Lip Glow in Soft Nude Dior Addict Lip Glow Sephora Do you already love Lip Glow (I am obsessed)? Then you are going to adore the newly updated formulas created by creative and image director for Dior Make-Up, Peter Philips. Utilising the same creamy formula that morphs depending on the pH of your lips, the shades have been divided into warm and cool undertones, so you can find a shade that is truly bespoke for you. My favourite? Soft Nude: my perfect mauve-rose pink.
Skin Rocks The Eye Cream Skin Rocks Skin Rocks The Eye Cream Skin Rocks My favourite of Caroline Hirons’s pearls of beauty wisdom is that you should put your eye cream on before your moisturiser. To do it the other way around would be the equivalent of wearing your bra on top of your T-shirt. She has been saying this for years, and now she has only gone and launched her own – frankly, brilliant – eye cream from her brand Skin Rocks, to address sallowness, puffiness, fine lines and wrinkles.
Hirons recommends applying it after cleansing around the whole eye area with the index finger and middle finger – no dabbing, just gently massaging. Try it, your eyes will thank you. Artah Advanced Multi-Nutrient Artah Advanced Multi-Nutrient Artah If you are looking for a one-hit-wonder of a supplement that tackles everything from metabolism to energy to mood to cognitive function, look no further than this one, from nutritionist Rhian Stephenson’s Artah brand.
Packed with over 40 vitamins, minerals, plants and herbs, it does much of the daily nutritional heavy lifting, so you don’t need to stress if you’re not managing to get your five a day. Chanel Massage Tool Chanel Chanel Massage Tool Chanel Skin sculpting becomes immediately more chic when your gua sha has a Chanel logo on it. A Chanel accessory with a difference, this is very much the case of a tool that has both style and substance, as this new release is made with camellia seed husks, which are a by-product of the camellia extracts found in the newly reformulated No.
1 de Chanel skincare products. Use the tool with their targeted massage technique protocol found on-site to increase circulation and ergo the benefits of the products too. Jones Road Gel Liner Jones Road Jones Road Gel Liner Liberty Any OG fans of Bobbi Brown, the person, will remember when she created a gel liner for her eponymous brand of the same name in the early 2000s.
Now no longer affiliated with that line, she has launched a newly supercharged formula that glides on (with the assistance of the precision angled brush that you can get to use with it) and lasts forever. It literally will not budge until you choose to remove it at the end of the day. Gel Liner 2.
0 is 10/10. Amouage Guidance 46 Eau de Parfum Amouage Guidance Amouage Guidance 46 Eau de Parfum Selfridges Amouage fragrances have reached TikTok-viral levels of fame, and this slightly softer version of their hero Guidance – Guidance 46 – is destined for the same levels of success. New notes of almond, rose water and pink pepper, join cornerstones of the original fragrance such as rose, saffron and jasmine to create a sultry, sweet, floral scent, which ordinarily wouldn’t be what I would reach for in a fragrance, but there is something about this that I just can’t get enough of.
Clinique Even Better Clinical Vitamin Foundation Clinique Clinique Even Better Clinical Vitamin Foundation Boots It’s hard to make a foundation called Even Better, well, even better, but somehow Clinique has done it. A new formula in the famed Even Better franchise, this version is infused with vitamins B, C and E, as well as SPF50, but still in the same lightweight, second skin texture that we have all come to know and love from Clinique foundations. See? Like I said – even better.
Tom Ford Rose Exposed Fragrance TOM FORD Tom Ford Rose Exposed Fragrance Selfridges A frosted pink bottle of perfection that houses the latest offering from Tom Ford Fragrance, this powerhouse rose-scented eau de parfum is rich, smoky and unashamedly punchy, but in a way that is so wonderful to wear, it will have people who don’t even like rose fragrances (normally me) asking what scent you are wearing. Vieve Super Skin Nova Moisture Rich Primer Vieve Vieve Super Skin Nova Moisture Rich Primer Sephora Get the glow with this tinted priming moisturiser developed by make-up artist Jamie Genevieve. The new addition to her bestselling Skin Nova range, it’s a slightly richer version than her existing Skin Nova Instant Radiance Primer for those with drier skin types (although I have normal/combination skin and my skin lapped it up to reveal serious radiance).
A multitasking wonder, use it as a primer to even out skintone and prep skin for a fuller coverage make-up look, or use it alone for bare skin luminosity. I am seriously impressed. Beauty Pie X Hershesons Beauty Pie X Hershesons Beauty Pie This is a powerhouse collaboration if ever I saw one.
Combining a hairdryer from London super salon Hershesons with Super Healthy Hair Spray and hairbrushes from Beauty Pie is very much a case of when two become one, to excellent beauty benefits. And if you look at the bargain: the normal retail price of the hairdryer alone is £295, so if you’ve been thinking of upgrading your hair routine, now is very much the time. Lisa Eldridge Pinpoint Concealer Micro Correcting Pencil Lisa Eldridge Lisa Eldridge Pinpoint Concealer Micro Correcting Pencil Lisa Eldridge What you see before you is not a flesh-coloured lip pencil, but rather a concealer that has been designed by make-up supremo, Lisa Eldridge, to deliver excellent coverage with super precision.
It’s a creamy, blendable formula that glides onto skin to cover blemishes, even out skin tone and blur out darkness under the eyes. A new addition to the make-up bag. Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Recovery Cream Dermalogica Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Recovery Cream SpaceNK Dermalogica’s Multivitamin Power Recovery Mask is one of my all-time favourite masks (if you haven’t tried it, I really urge that you do), so when I discovered that it’s hydrating, energising and revitalising formula was coming in a day cream form, I was positively beside myself.
The good news? It doesn’t disappoint and delivers on all fronts. Glossier Black Cherry Collection Glossier Glossier Black Cherry Collection Glossier The winter make-up pick-me-up I’ve been waiting for. Deep berry hues for eyes, lips and cheeks in my favourite Glossier product pillars such as Cloud Paint and Balm Dotcom, the textures are just the right side of sheer so that you can build up pigment to suit your taste.
Very tasty indeed. Hourglass Phantom Volumizing Glossy Balm in Red 0 Hourglass Hourglass Phantom Volumizing Glossy Balm in Red 0 Hourglass Look in my handbag and you might find three of four shades of the Phantom Glossy Balm milling around. I adore the slick-but-not-sticky tint texture in all manner of sheer shades.
But, the new addition to the line-up is this rouge number that – in the first instance – is the kind of red that you can wear every day at any time (no save-for-best here) due to its sheerness, but more than that, it’s a vegan and cruelty-free formula that doesn’t use carmine (an ingredient often used in red pigments that is derived from beetles). In a shade named Red 0, the vegan formulation already exists in four of Hourglass’s lip products and now in the Glossy Balm there is a red for every texture preference. Zero regrets in adding this to my handbag too.
Charlotte Tilbury Contour Wand Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte Tilbury Contour Wand Charlotte Tilbury The biggest beauty talk of the week has been about the new Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Wonderland in Covent Garden. The biggest standalone store globally – it is, indeed, ginormous – it also houses her very first Skin Spa complete with treatment rooms and skin specialists to play forward Tilbury’s mantra of “the perfect make-up needs a perfect canvas”. Skincare aside, as you might imagine, it’s a beauty playground with rooms dedicated to franchises such as Pillow Talk, and make-up as far as the eye can see.
It will also become a destination for wedding make-up consultations and masterclasses, as well as exclusive product drops. As of next week, there are shade extensions dropping for her highly hyped Contour Wand, which, if you are yet to be acquainted, I highly recommend. Merit Flush Balm Merit Merit Flush Balm Merit There are multiple Merit products in my daily beauty arsenal (hello, The Minimalist Complexion Stick ) and this Flush Balm is one of them.
Whilst Stockholm and Beverley Hills are shades beloved in equal measure, of the newly launched shade extensions, Lusitano is a new favourite. Aesop Eleos Aromatique Hand Balm Aesop Aesop Eleos Aromatique Hand Balm Sephora If, like me, you are finding this freezing weather very chapping on the hands, then you would do well to try this Aesop hand balm. Highly moisturising, but not at all greasy, it’s the blend of cedar, patchouli and clove that delivers a cosseting cosy scent that feels so right for right now.
The Inkey List Ectoin Hydro Barrier Serum The Inkey List The Inkey List Ectoin Hydro Barrier Serum Sephora While we’re on the topic of cold weather, keeping the skin barrier intact during a cold snap is essential. This landed on the Vogue beauty desk this week, which I took home straight away to start using in the morning to help keep my skin nourished and happy. I can report that it felt immediately cushion-y and hydrated on first application and so I will be continuing to use it while the freezing temperatures prevail.
Skin Rocks The Cleansing Balm Skin Rocks The Cleansing Balm Space NK An indulgent cleansing balm, that leaves no trace of make-up in its wake, is the next addition to Caroline Hirons’s skincare brand, Skin Rocks. Available fragrance-free and scented, it’s the latter version that has got me truly hooked. Not only does it deliver the perfect cleanse (seriously, skin feels so clean but supple afterwards), it smells of absolute heaven.
It’s a big thumbs up from me. Creed Royal Mayfair Eau de Parfum Creed Royal Mayfair Eau de Parfum Creed A once discontinued, and much beloved-by-the-internet, scent has had a stunning revival as Creed Fragrances relaunch its iconic Royal Mayfair Eau de Parfum. There is TikTok upon Tiktok dedicated to how divine this fragrance is – its renaissance sees a slightly revised formula that still stays true to its zesty original predecessor with notes of bergamot, eucalyptus and bitter orange.
A classic perfume if ever there was one, I am delighted to see its return. Naturium Phyto-Glow Lip Mask Naturium Phyto-Glow Lip Mask Space NK Regular readers of this column will know that I simply cannot resist a nourishing lip product – this mask from Naturium came straight home with me as soon as it landed on my desk. Brilliantly hydrating, soft (not sticky) in texture and sweet smelling, it’s perfection.
P.S. don’t be fooled by the mask moniker – you can, and should, use it all day, every day as you would a balm.
Hourglass Phantom Glossy Balm Hourglass Phantom Glossy Balm Cult Beauty As per the above, we know I love a good lip product (who doesn’t?). This tinted variety has become a modern day make-up must-have for good reason: it’s a sheer but high-shine lip tint in a range of suits-all shades that are one step up from a lip balm and one step down from a lipstick. I have had one in my handbag at all times of late, and I like to pair with my favourite Hourglass lip liner in shade Tempt.
Dr Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Universal Daily Peel Pads Dr Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Universal Daily Peel Pads Cult Beauty I was recently reintroduced to an old friend – these resurfacing pads from Dr Dennis Gross. So good at making skin radiant, they consist of a two-step wipe system designed to be done post-cleanse. The AHA exfoliating acids get to work at smoothing and evening out the skin’s surface for a luminous glow.
At this time of year, they couldn’t be more needed or appreciated. Daisyface The Face Cream Daisyface The Face Cream Daisy Stem Cells New brand alert! UK born and raised beauty brand, Daisy Skincare, launched this week. Founded by Daisy Schaffer, who is one of triplets, all of whom have very different skincare needs, it harnesses the power of daisy (of the flower variety) stem cells, that more than being a happy coincidence of marrying with her name, have very powerful skincare benefits that include regeneration, protection, and purification.
The standout for me is the lightweight day cream that (pun intended) leaves you feeling as fresh as a daisy. Sisley All Day All Year Sisley All Day All Year Space NK On a recent press trip with Sisley to learn about their new hair, make-up and suncare launches for 2025 (more on those to come next year), I was reminded of how much I love one of their core skincare products: All Day All Year. Not an SPF, but an urban protection product, it encapsulates antioxidants to protect the skin from pollution and environmental aggressors and is especially good for those who live in urban cities.
It’s going straight back into my skincare routine (as my first step) as of this week. Chanel N°5 Eau De Parfum Refillable Purse Spray Chanel N°5 Eau De Parfum Refillable Purse Spray Harrods I have not been coping with this adorable Chanel No.5 mini perfume bag charm that is part of their Winter’s Tale holiday collection.
A refillable spray in a cute bottle on a chain, it could also be worn around the wrist as a little fragrance bracelet, bringing double the fun. Flora Danica 1761 Eau De Parfum Flora Danica 1971 eau de parfum Liberty Another new brand alert! This time it’s from a Copenhagen-based luxury fragrance company, Flora Danica, inspired by a much revered botanical encyclopaedia of the same name. The hero scent is this one, 1971, which is a beautiful blend of ingredients such as lemon, sage and patchouli for an intensely green, but still zesty and fresh, fragrance.
Highly recommend. Tom Ford Beauty Soleil Neige Blush Highlighter Duo in High Altitude Tom Ford Beauty Soleil Neige Blush Highlighter Duo in High Altitude Selfridges If you want to be able to pull off the cold girl make-up trend doing the rounds on TikTok, then look no further than this Soleil Neige highlighter from Tom Ford Beauty. A delightful combination of highlighter and blush that leaves the skin looking fresh and dewy and like you have just come in from the cold, it’s so good you will want to continue using it long after the season – and the trending term – has faded.
Rhode Peptide Lip Tint in Cinnamon Roll Rhode Peptide Lip Tint in Cinnamon Roll Rhode It’s the lip tint that is in every handbag, beauty cabinet and desk drawer that I have access to, such is my obsession, and Rhode’s Peptide Lip Tint is now available in a good-enough-to-eat sweet cinnamon flavour to celebrate founder Hailey Bieber’s birthday. A deep brown tint infused with a shot of shimmer, it’s the perfect lip update for this time of year. Make like Bieber and get the cinnamon chrome nails too, for the ultimate seasonal lips-and-tips matchy-matchy moment.
Bamford Cinnamon and Clove Scented Candle Bamford Cinnamon and Clove Scented Candle Bamford Whilst we are on the topic of cinnamon, I have been burning this cinnamon and clove candle from Bamford every evening. While it’s dark at 4pm and freezing cold outside, there is something infinitely cosy and warming about this festive spicy scent. Would recommend.
Armani Luminous Silk Foundation Armani Luminous Silk Foundation Look Fantastic On set shooting a beauty editorial for British Vogue’s spring issues this week, I was reminded by make-up artist Hiromi Ueda how much I love the Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. Totally weightless and luminous but still mattifying, it creates a smooth canvas both in front of the camera and in natural light. It’s a cult classic for good reason.
I have now retrieved it from my make-up drawer to reconnect with its greatness. Vogue Festive Calendar Vogue Vogue Festive Calendar Vogue Now is the time to pull the trigger on ordering your festive calendar for 2024, if you haven’t done so already. We spent the better part of the year curating Vogue’s calendar and it’s set to follow last year’s viral success.
A combination of beauty products beloved by our editors (myself included), as well as lifestyle essentials like jewellery, cosy socks, playing cards and a silk eye mask, it’s the gift that keeps on giving. XO Khloé Eau de Parfum XO Khloé Eau de Parfum Harrods Consider this your advanced warning that a new never-knew-you-needed perfume is launching on Monday – and it is really worth your consideration. It comes from a certain member of the Kardashian family, entitled XO Khloé.
Say what you will about the celebrity fragrance category, but you can tell that a lot of love and technical perfumery has gone into this new juice. Developed by master perfumer, Alberto Morillas, and Clement Gavarry of iconic fragrance house Firmenich, in collaboration with Khloé, it combines rose petals, praline, musk and soft woods for a smoky floral that is honestly really rather good..
