A list by the Financial Times earlier this year listed the 30 cosiest pubs in the UK, it has now been updated with another Sussex pub highlighted.

A historic village pub in Sussex has been named one of the cosiest in the country. The list by the Financial Times outlines the 30 cosiest pubs in the UK. It was a follow-up to a previous list this year which saw writers and editors from the news outlet pick their "favourite spots for a pint by the fire".

Sussex pub named one of the cosiest in the country The Horse Guards Inn, in Tillington, West Sussex, was added to the list of the cosiest pubs in the UK. The list said: "This 350-year-old pub is named after the Household Cavalry, who rested their horses in the grounds of the surrounding Petworth Estate. "Today there are board games, straw-bale seats and a kitchen supplied by an adjoining vegetable patch.

" On its website , it says the pub is found in the "sleepy village of Tillington, near Petworth". Found in the South Downs National Park, the pub boasts "rolling views down the Rother Valley". The Largest National Parks in the UK The pub is hugely popular, scoring a 4.

5 review rating on TripAdvisor from nearly 500 reviews. One visitor said in their review: "Excellent food and the service was first class. You get what you pay for.

"It is pricey but the quality is high. So go in expecting the best and you get that. Just remember quality comes at a cost.

"The roast beef was perfect and I chose the mussels which were absolutely super. We then had a delicious apple crumble followed by a really good coffee.

"The service was really good and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely go again.".
