There was more than turkey, football, shopping and family togetherness over the Thanksgiving holiday. Exhibitors from three states took part in the 39th annual Northeast Community College Classic livestock show. Michael Roeber, Northeast agriculture/livestock judging instructor and event organizer, said exhibitors from Nebraska, South Dakota and Iowa took part in the two-day cattle show at the Chuck M.
Pohlman Agriculture Complex in Norfolk. The event included a market show and a breeding show, along with showmanship. The show is hosted by the Northeast livestock judging team as a fundraiser for the team.
A total of 115 head were exhibited in the market show. The judge for the market portion of the show was Miles Stagemeyer of Page. The following champions were shown: Champion market heifer: Eli Nemintz, Schleswig, Iowa; reserve champion market heifer: Troy Lindquist, Gretna.
