A Romsey Thai restaurant has been shortlisted for a number of regional and national awards. Local favourite Suan Thai in Bell Street has again been nominated for a good food award, which, if they were to win it, would be their third in as many years. They are also in the running to pick up Asian Restaurant of the Year in the South East, an accolade conferred by the Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards.

As if that wasn't enough, Suan Thai has been put forward for yet another potential prize: the Asian Curry Awards. Suan Thai in Romsey has been shortlisted for a total of three awards (Image: Maps) Suan Thai opened in 2019 and is run by husband and wife team Chotiga and Guy Blackburn. About last year's award, the Good Food Awards website, it said: “Our Good Food Awards recognise the hard-working teams who strive for culinary excellence within their field.

Chosen for their food quality, service and value, our prestigious Blue Ribbon is bestowed upon those with high customer ratings/votes and is known as the Blue Ribbon for Delicious Dishes.” After opening in 2019, Mr and Mrs Blackburn battled with Covid restrictions and had to rebuild their whole staff team.
