Coming out of Weiss High School in the Class of 2026, Mays is listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 741st-ranked player. He also checks in as the 64th-ranked player at his position and the 102nd-ranked player in the state of Texas. An impressive player in his class, Mays received offers from 23 different programs, including Arizona, Arizona State, Ole Miss, Baylor, Houston, Miami, Michigan State, Nebraska, Oregon, Stanford, USC, and many more.
With the commitment, the Texas native joins a group of seven other future Red Raiders in his class, including Cord Nolan , Krush Johnson , Ayden Johnson , Tieson Eijawoko , Maddox Quiller , Noah Lewis , and Luke Bell .
