ARLINGTON, Texas — The Houston Texans hope to snap a two-game losing skid when they take on their in-state rival, the Dallas Cowboys, in Arlington tonight. The good news for Houston is receiver Nico Collins , who has missed the last five games with a hamstring injury, is expected to be back on the field, giving Houston QB C.J.
Stroud his top target. When Collins went down with an injury on Oct. 6 against Buffalo, he was leading the NFL in receiving yards.
He has 32 catches for 567 yards and three touchdowns. His production could be just what the Texans’ offense needs, especially in the second half. Houston hasn’t scored a touchdown after halftime in four straight games.
While Collins will return, the Texans will be without last year’s Defensive Rookie of the Year, Will Anderson Jr. , for the second straight game with a foot injury. The Cowboys have injury news of their own.
Quarterback Dak Prescott is out for the season with a hand injury. He was officially placed on the injured list on Monday. The Dallas backups are Cooper Rush, who is in his seventh year in the league, all with the Cowboys, and Trey Lance, who was the No.
3 overall pick by San Francisco in the 2021 NFL draft. Veteran Dallas cornerback Jourdan Lewis has also been ruled out of the game with a neck injury. Houston is 6-4 and in first place in the AFC South.
A win would keep them two full games ahead of the second place Indianapolis Colts. Dallas is 3-6 and in third place in the NFC East. The Cowboys have lost their last four games and have yet to win a home game this season.
That's a streak the Texans hope to extend. As for the all-time series, Dallas leads 4-2. There have been two overtime games between the two teams.
The Texans' first-ever game was a 19-10 win over the Cowboys in 2002. Throughout the game, we'll post updates on this page.
