Testosterone therapy during menopause: Can it reanimate a frozen libido?

Adding to the many, many things I rub onto, into and up myself to manage menopause, I have recently added testosterone. Specifically for loss of libido – mine fell out the window after an oophorectomy in 2019 (a cancer false alarm which basically left me as a female eunuch, and although regular non-surgical menopause can do that too, it’s not quite so drastic and overnight).

Specifically for loss of libido – mine fell out the window after an oophorectomy in 2019 (a cancer false alarm which basically left me as a female eunuch, and although regular non-surgical menopause can do that too, it’s not quite so drastic and overnight). As well as the standard joys of menopause – anxiety, rage, aches, hot flushes, brain fog, the usual – I felt like the sexual link between my brain and my body had been severed.

While my physical sexual function remained normal, my desire just wasn’t there anymore; I felt like a frozen car on a cold morning, taking ages to get going..
