CITY OF SAN FERNANDO --- Over 2,000 Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs are currently available across Central Luzon. This was announced by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) on Monday, during the 29th episode of the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas of the Philippine Information Agency. According to Tesda, diverse programs are offered through more than 500 accredited Technical Vocational Institutions (TVIs) in the region.
The training courses are aligned with industry demands to ensure that graduates gain the necessary competencies for various sectors, generally free and include allowances under scholarship offerings. The agency said that private TVIs offer two modes of training, where individuals may either avail of scholarships or pay for the courses. The available training options include online, face-to-face, and blended learning modalities to provide flexibility.
Eligible applicants must be at least 18 years old and high school graduates or completed the Alternative Learning System. For non-high school graduates, TESDA conducts community-based training programs to ensure access to technical education. "We have different types of training modalities that can still be conducted.
We have institution-based training, where if it is under a scholarship program, the minimum requirements must be met. If not, we can conduct community-based training," the Tesda said. For application or inquiries, interested individuals may visit the official Tesda website at www.
tesda.gov.ph or directly coordinate with the Tesda Technology Institutions or accredited TVIs in their respective areas.
