Tesco's Christmas delivery slots officially went live today, with eager shoppers already queuing from the early hours of the morning. The supermarket giant's popular festive food slots previously opened early for priority shoppers on November 5. However, regular shoppers can now book their own slot as of 6am today (November 12).
With just 43 days until the big day arrives, it's no surprise that Tesco's delivery slots are already proving popular with shoppers looking to begin the preparations. In fact, some took to social media to confirm they had set an alarm to ensure they woke up in time to avoid missing out. Tesco shoppers will know just how popular the supermarket's delivery slots are at this time of the year.
In fact, back in 2022, the thousands of them were placed in a virtual queue, causing the website to "crash". To avoid the same frustration this year, we have provided below all the information you need on how to nab your own highly coveted spot, helping you to tick off one important job before Christmas . Booking either a click & collect or home delivery slot with Tesco couldn't be easier.
All you need to do is simply head over to the Tesco website , book your chosen slot and then continue on with your food shopping online as normal. A handy piece of information to note is that you can make any changes to your order up until your selected slot. For home delivery, you can choose between a 'fixed one hour slot' or a 'flexi saver slot', meaning Tesco will provide you with a one-hour window on the day of your delivery.
Meanwhile, the click & collect service doesn't offer the flexible option, just a one-hour window that you can choose. As of writing, Tesco's Christmas food slots are available from today (November 12), right up until December 20 for home delivery, while click & collect still has dates up until December 22. There are mornings, afternoons and evenings available, yet some are starting to be booked up, so we'd advise acting fast.
It is worth mentioning that slots do come with a price-tag, depending on the customer. For regular shoppers, prices form home delivery range between £3 to £7, depending on the time and date you have selected. Meanwhile, click & collect is a little cheaper, with prices costing between just £1 and £3.
For anyone who doesn't want to pay for their online food shopping anymore, not just as Christmas, then it's worth considering Tesco's Delivery Saver Pass. This monthly subscription means that you no longer have to pay for your online slot. The supermarket charges just £4.
99 a month for a six month 'off-peak' pass, while its 'Anytime' pass is priced at £7.99 per month for six months. The pass is also available for the click & collect service, coming to £2.
49 per month for six months. However, one thing to take into account is if you do your weekly shopping online enough to justify the costs and you can find more information on the Tesco website here . Head over to Tesco's website to book your Christmas food delivery slot here .
