Patrick Mahomes will have the final say on the Kansas City Chiefs' attempt at a three-peat , after Terry Bradshaw and Michael Strahan previously disagreed on his chances. The quarterback is now just one game away from unprecedented success, with the only thing standing in his way being Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles . The journey to the Super Bowl wasn't as easy as it seemed, however, with 10 out of all 17 regular season games being decided by just one score.

During one particular walk-off game – a 30-27 win against the Carolina Panthers in week 11 – Bradshaw and Strahan discussed the Chiefs' chances of making the Super Bowl in postseason. By this point, this win marked the team's eighth one-score victory out of 11 games, which prompted the FOX NFL Sunday presenters to question if Mahomes and his team had the ability to continue this close-call run. Bradshaw was confident that Mahomes could continue to lead his team to victory, as he said: "I was shocked by that score.

Carolina, ever since they brought Bryce Young ...

back to starting he has played outstanding. He was outstanding today against Kansas City. They had this game tied up at 27, but once again, with three touchdown passes, you knew Mahomes was going to bring them back, and that's exactly what he did.

" The 76-year-old analyst also backed the quarterback to get to the Super Bowl this year, as he added: "How long do they continue doing this and winning [like] this, and will it finally let them down when it counts most? I doubt it. I just don't think that's going to happen. This football team knows how to win.

" However, Strahan wasn't of the same opinion. He concluded that continuously winning close-shave games will weigh heavy on the players' minds and could eventually catch up with them in the weeks to come. I think it wears the players down." Bradshaw also pointed out the risk of underestimating opponents, given that the Panthers were 3-8 at this point of the season. He said: "But when you play Carolina, you cannot tell me that Kansas City didn't look at Carolina on the schedule and go, 'Mhm, Carolina really?" Strahan then retorted: "But they've been looking at every team like that, they've been squeaking by every team this way.

After the week 11 debate, the Chiefs lost just one game - a 38-0 blowout against the Denver Broncos - and are in their third consecutive Super Bowl. They will face the Eagles on Sunday, February 9 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. While many are backing Mahomes to get the job done and make history with the Chiefs, Hurts and the Eagles will feel confident after their Conference Championship win against the Washington Commanders.

It remains to be seen whether Bradshaw's prediction will turn out correct or if Strahan's apprehension was well-placed, but one thing is certain: NFL fans are in for an exciting night of action..
