Photo by OPP Article content Provincial police say two guns were seized, as well as about $113,000 worth of suspected illicit drugs and more than $187,000 in cash, following a multi-agency drug trafficking investigation in Ottawa and the surrounding area. OPP said the Provincial Guns and Gangs Enforcement team began the investigation in Ottawa late in 2024. Between March 3 and March 5, a combined police force including specialized OPP teams and members of the Surete du Quebec, Ottawa and Gatineau police as well as Canadian Border Services executed six search warrants on residences in Ottawa, Gatineau and Renfrew, and three vehicle search warrants.

17 kg of suspected cocaine, about eight grams of suspected fentanyl, more than 150 tablets of pregabalin (a strong painkiller), more than 390 tablets of alprazolam, an anti-anxiety drugs, and more than 100 hydromorphone tablets and $187,419 in cash. Police also seized two vehicles, nine cellphones, digital scales, pepper spray, luxury jewelry, two money counting machines and packaging materials. Ten people are facing a combined 58 charges, police said.
