A teenager accused of murdering his father has appeared in court. Fabio Botros, 19, was arrested on Tuesday, April 1, following the death of 57-year-old Emad Farag in Hartfield Avenue, Brighton. A woman and a boy were also found seriously injured and taken to hospital.
They have since been discharged. Police believe a hammer and two knives were used as part of the attack. Botros appeared at Brighton Magistrates' Court today, April 3, wearing a grey sweatshirt and trousers.
He spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth. Emad Farag died at the scene (Image: Supplied) He is due to appear at Lewes Crown Court tomorrow, April 4, and remains in custody. Botros is charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder.
Emergency services responded to reports of a disturbance in Hartfield Avenue , where the woman and the boy were found outside the property. Emad Farag was found inside with a serious head injury and died at the scene. Officers quickly arrested Botros, of Hartfield Avenue, Brighton, near to the address and he was taken to custody.
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Cullimore said: “This was a shocking and tragic incident, and our thoughts are with those affected and their loved ones.
