A teenage boy living in Australia has been charged in an international murder investigation for his alleged role in organising in Europe. or signup to continue reading Investigators from Sweden and Denmark teamed up with the Australian Federal Police (AFP) to arrest the 15-year-old boy at his west Sydney home on April 16. Police allege the foreign national used an to organise murder-for-hire contracts on behalf of a transnational criminal syndicate.
"While in Australia, the young man is suspected of having attempted to recruit people to commit contract killings in Denmark and Sweden as part of ongoing gang conflicts in the Nordic region," Danish Police Deputy Chief Superintendent Lars Feldt-Rasmussen said. AFP launched an investigation in April 2025 after receiving information from Danish Police about the alleged contract killing plots. The boy's home was searched and a number of electronic devices were seized for examination.
He has been charged with one count of using a device connected to a telecommunications network with the intention to commit a serious offence, namely conspiracy to murder. The crimes carry a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.
He was formally refused bail at the Surry Hills Children's Court and is due to reappear in court on June 11, 2025.
