A teenage boxer will take on a half marathon just months after completing a pier-to-pier walking challenge. Eli Green helped to raise over £3,000 for Great Ormond Street (Gosh) in London by walking from Worthing Pier to Brighton's Palace Pier in July. Now, the teenager is aiming to raise another haul of money by taking on the Sussex Downs Half Marathon and trekking across the Downs in aid of the the children's hospital charity.

Eli, from Lancing, said: "I’m inspired to give back. There are kids my age and younger who can’t do what I do—kids who are facing challenges far beyond what most of us could imagine. "I want to use my health and fitness to raise funds that will make a real difference in their lives, particularly as Christmas approaches.

" Regularly boxing at his father's BN1 Boxing venue in Lancing, the fundraising effort is Eli's second for Gosh this year having already trekked nearly 11 miles between Worthing and Brighton piers in July. Eli aims to raise £1,500 with his current effort and has so far raised nearly £500 towards his target. Anyone wishing to donate can do so through Eli's JustGiving page.
