Up-and-coming Newbury band Minor Inconvenience will be battling it out for a headline prize this month at The Rising Networks’ Battle of the Bands. The band, which was formed in 2023 by four Park House School students, will up against four other bands at the Phoenix Arts Centre, in Bordon, Hampshire, on Sunday, April 27. Minor Inconvenience will be lining up with their usual set list of rock classics and their own songs, all delivered with youthful energy and schoolboy style.

The band, which has already played several local festivals, is made up of Ant Wilkin, guitar and vocals; Mason Velvick, lead guitar; James McDermott, bass guitar, and Ollie Smith, drums. They were invited to take part in the Battle of the Bands after being spotted performing at Basingstoke’s Listen Up festival in March. Winners could be in line for cash prizes, mentoring, and a headline spot at a Hampshire summer music festival.

Drummer Ollie said: “It’s great be invited to play at the Battle of the Bands. We’re up against some tough competition, so appreciate all the support we can get.” To follow Minor Inconvenience on Instagram search for minor_inconvenience.
