A teenage pedestrian was left with 'serious injuries' after being struck by a car. And the collision on the A53 through Baldwins Gate saw the route shut off as emergency services were called to the scene. The alarm had been raised just before 6.
25pm yesterday evening (December 16) with traffic monitoring system Inrix reporting how the route was shut between its junctions with Sandy Lane and Meadow Way. Today West Midlands Ambulance Service say paramedics were called to a 'road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian'. A spokeswoman said: "One ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Midland Air Ambulance Critical Care Car attended the scene.
Upon arrival we found a teenage girl who was the pedestrian. "She was assessed by ambulance staff and had sustained serious injuries. She was conveyed to Royal Stoke University Hospital for further assessment.
