Teachers' association rejects Finance Ministry's clarification The agitating university teachers have rejected the clarification given by the Finance Ministry on the 'Prattay Scheme' of universal pension. Professor Nizamul Haque Bhuiyan, Secretary General of Bangladesh University Teachers' Association Federation, announced this rejection at the sit-in program on Tuesday (July 2) afternoon at the main gate of Kala Bhavan of Dhaka University. However, he said that there is no difficulty in going to the scheme called 'Sebak' which has been announced for government employees from next year.

At that time, he also demanded to give supergrade to the teachers. He said, ''By withdrawing the 'Prattay Scheme', we will go to the scheme called 'Sebak' next year, where there will be facilities for all. There is no problem.



'' ''We do not trust government officials. They didn't give us super grade. Then we talked with Prime Minister, a committee was also formed.

But even in nine years we did not get super grade. They promised at that time. So we don't believe their assurances.

Prime Minister should sit with us. We get super grade'', he said. Prof.

Nizamul Haque further said that the loss of the students will be compensated through special class-examination. ''It is sad. Instead of taking students to classes, we are agitating.

However, the loss will be compensated with special class-examination'', he added. Earlier, the Finance Ministry has issued a clarification on relevant issues of the rec.
