A male teacher received a live chicken and cooking ingredients from his grateful students during World Teacher’s Day. Last week, schools across the country celebrated National and World Teacher’s Day to honor teachers who play important roles in their students’ lives. In various schools, students expressed their love and appreciation for their teachers in creative ways.

On October 4, 2024, Ismail Mohamad Dimasangcay, a Facebook user, shared a touching moment when one of his students presented him with a live chicken and cooking ingredients for making ‘tinola’. The post garnered various reactions from the online community. Dimasangcay, a 26-year-old elementary teacher at Datagan Elementary School in Zamboanga del Sur expressed his joy at the thoughtful gift.

As a Grade 1 teacher with four years of experience, he was amused to receive a unique gift from his students. The chicken was given by a student whose sibling was also in his class. The gesture was a way for the family to show their gratitude for his dedication as a teacher.

The student’s parents appreciated his efforts and sacrifices, especially given the distance to their school. The teacher also received lemongrass, an important ingredient for tinola. This made the gift even more special, as it allowed him to cook the dish right away.

“Masaya rin ang aking estudyante na ibinigay sa akin ang manok dahil daw po sa kabaitan ko...

. Natawa rin po ako kasi kasabay ng pagbigay sa akin ng manok ay may tanglad (lemon grass) na kasama, kasi pwede ko raw gawing tinola ang manok,” Dimasangcay said. In a previous post, a female teacher receives live chicken as gift for Teachers’ day Ismail shared that he was carefully taking care of the chicken.

“Buhay pa po ang manok. Inalagaan ko po, hehe nasasayangan kasi ako kasi gift siya ng pupil sa akin,” he added. The social media users expressed their reactions to the post :.
