These special services have been organized to serve the English-speaking community residing in the Algarve and visitors who wish to participate in the sacred liturgies and traditions of this important time in the Christian calendar. We invite all members of the community to join us in prayer and reflection as we commemorate the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Below is the schedule of celebrations in English.
Scheduled Events: Palm Sunday, April 13th: 10:30 am - Palm Mass at Santiago Church, Tavira Holy Tuesday, April 15th: 4:00 pm - 7:30 pm - Confessions in English at Santiago Church, Tavira Holy Wednesday, April 16th: 6:00 pm – Way of the cross (Via Crucis) in English, beginning at Santiago Church and proceeding through the streets of Tavira's historic centre. Holy Thursday, April 17th: 6:00 pm - Mass of the Lord's Supper in English at Santiago Church, Tavira Good Friday, April 18th: 5:00 pm - Celebration of the Lord's Passion in English at Santiago Church, Tavira Easter Sunday, April 20th: 10:30 am - Easter Sunday Mass of the Resurrection in English at Santiago Church, Tavira All are warmly invited to participate in these sacred celebrations.
