Igli Tare is now the frontrunner to become the next sporting director at Milan, and reports on Monday claim that his preferred candidate to take over from Sergio Conceicao as head coach is former Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri. Tare is now leading the race to become the next sporting director at Milan. He is due to sit down with Rossoneri CEO Giorgio Furlani for a new round of talks later this week.

Milan had been close to appointing former Juventus and Tottenham executive Fabio Paratici, but he was later dropped due to legal complexities. There had also been interest from San Siro in Tony D’Amico of Atalanta, Giovanni Manna of Napoli and Bologna’s Giovanni Sartori, but both are unlikely to leave their jobs at their current clubs according to the latest updates. Tare, meanwhile, has been under consideration from the get-go.



He is the preferred candidate of advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and given that he is not currently under employment, is available to begin work immediately, unlike the aforementioned candidates.
