Taos Nov. 13-16 Taos Jazz Festival The 10th Annual Frank Morgan Taos Jazz Festival brings in world-renowned musicians. The concerts take place at several venues and include free shows, though reservations are required.

Performers are Red-Hot & Red, featuring Grammy Award-winning Doug Lawrence; Django Festival Allstars, Tadataka Unno and Ana Petrov to name a few. For more information, visit taosjazz.org .



Alamogordo Nov. 9 Sounds of Freedom The city of Alamogordo invites the public to its Sounds of Freedom event, a spectacular Veterans Day weekend celebration from 3 to 10 p.m.

at Alameda Park. There will be live music, inflatables, climbing wall, riding ponies, vendors, food trucks and a car show. As the sun sets, watch a drone show lighting up the night sky.

The day kicks off at 8 a.m. at Baish Veterans Park with the Veterans Mission Artesia Fun Run/Walk/Ride.

At 10 a.m. The Derrick Floor is the place for the Oil Patch Market.

Veterans receive a free care package from Shawna Beasley and Operation Gratitude. On Monday, the APS Veterans Day Program takes place at 11 a.m.

at the Estelle Yates Auditorium. The Artesia General Hospital invites veterans to its ham and beans lunch from 11 a.m.

to 1 p.m. The day ends at 4:30 p.

24 Coming Home for Christmas Arts Festival The 40th Annual Coming Home for Christmas Arts Festival takes place at the White Sands Mall, 3199 N. White Sands Mall, Mondays thru Saturdays from 10 a.m.

Carrizozo Nov. 16 A Western Historic Gala Fundraiser Lincoln County Historical Society presents, A Western Historic Gala Fundraiser. The event is held at the Carrizozo Country Club, 14 Country Club Drive, from 5 to 10 p.

m. The ticket includes two dinners, four drink tokens, live music and dancing. There will be an auction with Western art and historic items, such as a framed and signed document and photo of John Kenny (Lincoln County War), SD Meyers saddle, original oil paintings from various artists, bronzes by CA Pardell and Frederic Remington, to name a few.
