Listen to Story Tamil television presenter Manimegalai announced her decision to quit the cooking-based reality show, Cooku With Comali Season 5, recently. She blamed a senior anchor, who is presently a contestant - a cook - on the show. Though Manimegalai didn't name the cook, fans were quick enough to point out that she was talking about Priyanka Deshpande, one of the leading anchors in television space.
In a detailed note, she wrote, "Not a part of Cook With Comali anymore. With utmost sincerity , honest & dedication i always give all my 100 per cent of efforts & hard work in whichever programme im committed to. Same with CWC Since 2019 Nov, where the journey of the Stress buster show began (sic).
" She mentioned that her self respect was more important than fame and money. Manimegalai reasoned out that the ongoing fifth season is dominated by a 'senior anchor, who was actually supposed to be a cook of the show'. Here's the post: A post shared by Mani Megalai (@iammanimegalai) She wrote, "This season was completely dominated by another female anchor, especially in Anchors Part, who was actually supposed to be a COOK of the show, but she often forgets that & deliberately interrupts alot in Anchor portions by not letting me to do the job.
Even asking for our rights & raising a concern becomes as an offence in this season. But ill always raise voice for whatever is right for me & i don’t care about anybody. Lot of negativity & dominance overshadow the Originality of the show.
This s not the same CWC which i used to enjoy working before. So im not part of it anymore (sic)." Manimegalai mentioned that this was her 15th year in television but had never experienced 'such an immature behaviour'.
"But I still wish only the best to the person who did this to me. May god bless her with more shows & opportunities so that others will not be suffered. Live & Let live (sic)," she explained.
Soon after her post, fans on X and Instagram blamed Priyanka Deshpande for using her seniority to dominate others on the show. Fellow anchors and celebrities supported Manimegalai and wished her for her future endeavours. Here are some comments: Cooku With Comali Season 5 is reaching its finale soon.
Priyanka Deshpande, Sujitha and Irfan have been chosen as the finalists. One or two more contestants will be chosen after the wildcard round, which will be followed by the grand finale. Reports suggest that Priyanka Deshpande has been chosen as the title winner of Cooku With Comali 5.
