Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin urges Tamil diaspora to visit home annually and explore historical sites

Chief Minister M K Stalin has urged the Tamil diaspora in the US to bring their children to Tamil Nadu annually. Speaking at a cultural event in Chicago, he encouraged visits to historical sites and emphasized unity among Tamils abroad. He highlighted the DMK government's efforts in rescuing stranded Tamils and supporting expatriates.

CHENNAI: Chief minister M K Stalin has appealed to the Tamil diaspora in the US to bring their children to the state at least once a year. At a cultural programme organised by Federation of Tamil Sangams in North America (FETNA) and other Tamil associations in Chicago on Saturday, he asked them to visit places of historical and archaeological significance in Tami Nadu. "Show them the grandeur of Thiruvalluvar (statue at Kanyakumari).

Take them to Keeladi museum , the symbol of our history," Stalin said, according to a statement. He also wanted them to visit other places of archaeological importance such as Sivakalai, Korkai, and Porunai. "Contribute to Tamil Nadu in any way you can.



" Stalin told the gathering that he had another request. "Stay united and do not allow divisions among yourselves. Continue your progress by having faith only in your hard work and intelligence, which has taken you this far.

" Listing out the contributions of DMK govt for the welfare of overseas Tamils, he said it had rescued 2,398 Tamils stranded in various countries under emergency situations in the last three years. "We have rescued 1,524 students who went to Ukraine for education during the Russia-Ukraine war. We have brought back 83 Tamils from Cambodia, Thailand, and Myanmar.

We rescued 126 individuals from Israel who were unable to continue their education," Stalin said. "Not only Tamils in Tamil Nadu but also Tamils around the world are protected by our Dravidian model govt ," he said adding that the govt has created the ' Overseas Tamil Welfare Board ' for expatriate Tamils and established a toll-free assistance centre for Tamils abroad. "We provide financial aid to the families of those who go abroad for work and face difficulties.

Overall, the Dravidian Munnetra Kazhagam govt has created a sense of assurance among Tamils worldwide that Tamil Nadu is our homeland," Stalin said..
