Taiwan reports Chinese drills for second day

Taiwan's defense ministry reported Wednesday that dozens of Chinese aircraft, warships, and coast guard vessels surrounded the self-ruled island, as Beijing continued military drills aimed at Taiwan for the second day in a row. The ministry detected 27 Chinese aircraft, 21 warships, and 10 coast guard vessels operating around Taiwan between 6:08 a.m.

(2208 GMT Tuesday) and 1:30 p.m., a defense official told reporters.
