President-elect Donald Trump on his reelection Thursday, saying Trump promised to address Congress in a taekwondo uniform if reelected. Lee Dong-sup, president of the World Taekwondo Headquarters, also known as Kukkiwon, made the remark in a phone interview with Yonhap News Agency as he recalled his meeting with Trump in November 2021. "President-elect Trump and I had a long conversation about the South Korea-U.

S. alliance and inter-Korean peace," Lee said. "He said he would contribute to inter-Korean peace.

" Lee said he met Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida at the time and presented him with an honorary ninth-dan certificate and a taekwondo uniform. "President-elect Trump promised at the time that if he succeeded in getting reelected, he would give a speech to Congress wearing the uniform," Lee said. Lee also expressed his wishes that Trump will "play a big role for peace in the Republic of Korea" and actively support the development and spread of taekwondo in the U.
