Taco Bell brings back its Caramel Apple Empanada

The crispy dessert has been off Taco's Bell's menu since 2019, but it's back for a limited time.

Taco Bell temporarily restored its Caramel Apple Empanada to the menu on Thursday, Nov. 21, as part of its “Decades” lineup of nostalgic, retired food items. The dessert features warm apples in a crispy crust and goes for about $2.

99. Taco Bell introduced it in 2000 but discontinued it in 2019. Other “Decades” items include the tostada from the chain’s original, 1962 menu; the Green Sauce Burrito, representing the 1970s; the Meximelt from the 1980s; and the Gordita Supreme from the 1990s.



Items are priced $2.19-$3.49.

The Gordita Supreme is featured in a Luxe Cravings Box for about $7. The box also includes a Beefy 5-Layer Burrito, a Double-Stacked Taco, chips and cheese sauce and a soft drink. New items at the Irvine-based fast food giant include Midnight Cherry Freeze, a blue raspberry-flavored slushy with swirls of black cherry.
