Tabuan Jaya to shine with CNY decorations sponsored by chamber of commerce

KUCHING (Jan 9): The Tabuan Jaya Commercial Centre and Mayor Song Swee Guan Park in Tabuan Jaya here will be adorned with Chinese New Year (CNY) decorations, said Datuk Wee Hong Seng. The Kuching South mayor stated that the festive decoration items are sponsored by the Tabuan Jaya Chamber of Commerce to usher in the Year of the Snake.

“The lanterns donated by the chamber will be utilised to adorn the Tabuan Jaya Commercial Centre and Mayor Song Swee Guang Park with vibrant CNY decorations, creating an inviting and joyous atmosphere for all to enjoy. “These efforts aim to promote cultural appreciation, strengthen community bonds and contribute to the festive cheer synonymous with this significant celebration,” he said in a statement today. The statement was issued following a simple ceremony at the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Complex, where chamber secretary Penghulu Datuk Alex Pui handed over the donation to the mayor yesterday.



“The Tabuan Jaya Chamber of Commerce has once again demonstrated its commitment to community development by making a generous donation to support the festive beautification of the Tabuan Jaya Commercial Centre and Mayor Song Swee Guang Park in celebration of CNY,” Wee said. He said the donation highlights the chamber’s dedication to fostering community spirit and enhancing the festive atmosphere for both residents and visitors. Stressing the importance of giving back to the community, the mayor said: “CNY is a time for togetherness, joy, and renewal.
