He played 11 games at Notre Dame as a true freshman and didn’t miss another game for the rest of his college career. After not intercepting a pass as a freshman, Lewis had exactly one interception in each of his final four seasons. He returned his only interception of 2023 for a touchdown.
Lewis also averaged one tackle for loss per season for his career. His lone season at Syracuse may have been his most productive as he broke up 12 passes, making up 40% of all his pass deflections in his career. In an era where cornerbacks are practicing Charles Tillman’s ‘Peanut Punch,’ Lewis forced three fumbles in 165 career tackles.
Lewis said none of the teams he’s talked to have given him and indication as to whether or not he’ll play outside or as a nickel cornerback. The Titans finished as the second-best passing defense last season, allowing 177.3 passing yards per game.
L’Jarius Sneed, Jarvis Brownlee Jr. and Roger McCreary are expected to start again for the Titans while Lewis competes for a depth role and special teams snaps.
