Sydney erotica author charged over alleged child abuse material back in court

A Sydney-based author charged with disseminating, producing and possessing child abuse material has lost her attempt to have her identity suppressed. Lauren Tesolin-Mastrosa, who writes erotic fiction under the name Tori Woods, was charged over a fictional novel which allegedly depicts a relationship between a man and his friend’s 18-year-old daughter. It allegedly included references to the man fantasising about the girl when she was aged three.

Called , the book – which features children’s building blocks on the cover – sparked uproar when excerpts of pre-release copies were published online before Tesolin-Mastrosa was charged in March. The 33-year-old was arrested before being taken to Riverstone Police Station and later released on conditional bail. According to a NSW Police statement, in March 2025, officers attached to Riverstone Police Area Command received reports of a novel of fiction containing child abuse material.



On March 22, detectives attended a home in Quakers Hill, in Sydney’s outer north-west, and arrested the author. At the home, police executed a search warrant – seizing several hard copies of the novel – to be forensically examined. She was charged with one count each of disseminate child abuse material, produce child abuse material and possess child abuse material and has pleaded not guilty.

A suppression order on Tesolin-Mastrosa’s identity was lifted by Magistrate Rami Attia in Blacktown Local Court on Wednesday. The author pleaded not guilty to all charges, with the case listed for June 5..
