Swiss PE giant swoops on Australian data centre firm with $1.2b buyout

GreenSquare DC has secured a $1.2 billion deal with Swiss private equity giant Partners Group as deep-pocketed investors look for AI exposure.

Login Australian data centre firm GreenSquare DC has become the latest operator to catch the attention of deep-pocketed investors, with Swiss private equity giant Partners Group swooping in to seal a deal worth up to $1.2 billion.

The company was founded in 2020 and, like local success story AirTrunk, which was acquired for $24 billion by Blackstone last year , is targeting demand from large cloud computing and artificial intelligence companies for data centre space.
