A community garden project has received a £600 boost from a housebuilder. Redrow South West, which is currently building at Badbury Park, Homington Avenue, has donated the money to The GAP Swindon. The donation is part of the housebuilder's Community Fund initiative, which is now in its second year.
The fund allows organisations and charities to apply for donations to help them thrive, with local causes encouraged to submit applications for their share of a £10,000 pot. The GAP Swindon is a community garden project in Carstairs Avenue, Park South, that started in 2020. The funds received from Redrow will go towards making the garden more accessible for wheelchair users and those with limited mobility.

"This funding will enable us to develop and sustain our planned projects over the next 12 months, giving us the means to purchase essential items for the site such as bulbs, seeds, tools and signage." Sian Smith, sales director at Redrow South West, said: "The GAP Swindon is an important part of the community, and the volunteers work hard to provide a space for people of all ages to learn about and embrace nature.
