The Swans were beaten 2-1 by Hamworthy Recreation Reserves at the BJM Stadium in a competitive encounter. The visitors started brightly, with Cody Moore going close with two good efforts, and it was the Swans who took the lead on 18 minutes. Moore linked up well with Brassington, who in turn fed Albie Turner, who finished well past Henry Birtwhistle.
But the hosts equalised on 26 minutes, as Bryce Banfield scored after a free kick, with the sides heading into the break at 1-1. Turner tested keeper Birtwhistle with a shot in the first effort of the second period, before Moore missed the target from the rebound. Marcus Smith went close with a powerful effort, before Josh Titley set up Pitt with a good pass, but his shot was over the bar.
Titley had a good opportunity to give the Swans the lead once again but Birtwhistle, who was in fine form, kept his effort out. And the hosts were to go up the other end and take the lead themselves, Archie Whitfield finding the net after a defensive mix up. Both sides missed good opportunities as the game came towards a close, as the Swans were beaten on the road.
