Amid continued suspense regarding the next chief minister of Maharashtra, caretaker chief minister Eknath Shinde, BJP senior leader Devendra Fadnavis, and NCP chief Ajit Pawar met Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday at his Delhi residence. Though the decision on CM post could not be taken during the two-hour long meeting, the NDA leaders described the meeting as “good and positive". Several of the issues were discussed in the meeting, including cabinet allocations and key responsibilities.
BJP President JP Nadda was also part of the meeting, which Shinde described as positive and stated that the alliance partners will have a meeting in Mumbai too. "The meeting was good and positive. This was the first meeting.

There will be another meeting of the Mahayuti. In this meeting, a decision will be taken about who will be the Chief Minister. The meeting will be held in Mumbai," Shinde was quoted as saying by ANI.

Shinde said that he was the 'ladla bhai' of the saffron party leaders, and his only desire is the development of Maharashtra. "I cleared my role in the press conference yesterday that there are no obstacles regarding the chief minister of Mahayuti.
This 'ladla bhai' has arrived in Delhi and the 'ladla bhai' is a designation higher than anything else for me," Shinde said before the meeting. Devendra Fadnavis thanked Amit Shah for inspiring BJP workers in the election that led to the massive victory for the alliance.
