Suryakumar Yadav Just 39 Runs Away From Equalling Virat Kohli's Record In 2nd T20I vs Bangladesh

Suryakumar Yadav is on the verge of equalling the record of Virat Kohli in the second T20I against Bangladesh. India thrashed Bangladesh in the 1st T20I in Gwalior to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20I series.

India thrashed Bangladesh by seven wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the three match T20I series in Gwalior on Sunday. The second T20I match is scheduled to take place in Delhi on October 9. Suryakumar Yadav has been handed over the reign after Rohit Sharma’s retirement from T20Is and the 34 year old has done a pretty commendable job so far.

Suryakumar will be on the verge of equalling the record of Virat Kohli in the second T20I match against Bangladesh. He just needs 39 runs more to equal Virat’s record of becoming the second fastest batter in the world to reach 2500 runs in T20Is. Virat achieved the feat in 73 matches and Sky, what he is fondly called, is all set to play his 73rd match for India.



Babar Azam currently holds the record for being the fastest to 2500 runs as the former Pakistan captain reached the feat in just 67 matches. Virat also happens to be the fastest Indian to reach 3500 runs in T20Is. But now he is retired his records will be up for grabs.

The Indian T20I captain is known for his swashbuckling style and played an entertaining knock of 29 runs in just 14 balls in the 1st T20I. He also was the fastest Indian alongside Virat Kohli to hit the 2000 runs mark in T20Is. Suryakumar was a pivotal part of the Indian contingent which lifted the T20 World Cup title earlier this year.
