Suryakumar Yadav became only the fifth Indian player to surpass the 8,000-run mark in T20 cricket after his impressive performance in the Indian Premier League. The dynamic batter reached this milestone during Mumbai Indians commanding 8-wicket victory over reigning champions Kolkata Knight Riders in the 18th edition of the IPL.The match Between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Mumbai Indians (MI) was a one-sided affair.

Suryakumar, with his energy and confidence, entered the game and left the crowd in awe with his impressive cameo, leading MI to their first win of the season.The winning shot came off his bat as he remained unbeaten, scoring 27* from nine balls. His 27-run knock included three fours and two towering sixes, with a strike rate of 300.



With a short lived yet fiery batting Suryakumar became the fifth Indian batter to surpass the 8,000-run milestone in T20 cricket, joining the other four legends of the format. Virat Kohli tops the elite list with an impressive 12,976 runs, followed by former T20 captain Rohit Sharma with 11,851 runs. Former opener Shikhar Dhawan ranks third with 9,797 runs, while Suresh Raina holds the fourth spot with 8,654 runs in T20 cricket.
