Suriya Thanks His 'Kannadi Poo' Jyotika At Retro Audio Launch

Suriya is all set to appear in 2025's first release, his much-awaited film Retro, directed by Karthik Subbaraj. During a recent pre-release event, in which the official trailer was launched, Suriya took to the stage to share some heartfelt words with his fans, team and his wife Jyotika. Suriya Expresses His Love For Jyotika At Retro Audio Launch Talking at the audio launch, Suriya said "thank you fans, it is because of you my journey in cinema is going well, thanks to your love and affection.

" The newly released Retro offers a glimpse into the film's gripping narrative, featuring Suriya in a powerful role as a gangster who struggles to break free from his past. The story talks about love that endures against all odds, with Pooja Hegde playing Suriya’s on-screen wife. The high-octane trailer has been edited by Premam fame Malayalam filmmaker Alphonse Puthren.

Sharing the trailer on social media, Karthik Subbaraj thanked Puthren with a caption that read, ‘Thank you My Dear Friend.’ Retro also features an impressive supporting cast, including Jayaram, Karunakaran, Prakash Raj, Joju George, Swasika, Singampuli, and Nassar, with Shriya Saran making a special cameo appearance. Apart from Retro, Suriya is also working on another film titled Suriya 45, with actor-director RJ Balaji.

Meanwhile, Jyotika was last seen in the web series Dabba Cartel and appeared in the 2024 thriller film Shaitan alongside Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan. The film is written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj and is jointly produced by Stone Bench Creations and 2D Entertainment. The musical score for Retro is composed by Santhosh Narayanan.
