Surat accountant wakes to find four fingers gone, police puzzled

Representative Image SURAT: The Amroli police in Surat have launched an investigation into a puzzling incident where an accountant working with a diamond firm reported that four fingers of his left hand were mysteriously severed after he fell unconscious near Variyav Bridge . According to Tarpara's statement, he had gone to meet a friend near Vedant Circle and stopped on his way home to relieve himself. He claimed he suddenly lost consciousness and woke up to find the fingers of his left hand missing on Sunday night.

"When he regained consciousness and gripped his bike's handle, he realized his fingers were gone. Although there was blood, he reported no pain," police officials said. Tarpara immediately called a friend, who rushed him to the hospital and informed his family.



Doctors advised his family to locate the severed fingers for reattachment surgery, but they could not find any at the scene. Police have been investigating the case since Monday, but no clear leads have emerged. "Tarpara has denied having any disputes, financial troubles, or romantic entanglements that could point to a motive.

He doesn't suspect anyone," said an officer. The lack of blood traces or severed fingers at the spot has added to the mystery. Investigators are now focusing on technical surveillance and retracing Tarpara's activities and interactions on the day of the incident.
