EL CENTRO – The Imperial County Board of Supervisors will meet Tuesday to consider recognizing outgoing supervisors Luis Plancarte of District 2 and Michael Kelley of District 3. Open session has been set to begin at 10 a.m.
The agenda includes Martha Cardenas-Singh and Margarita Peggy Price as board members. Cardenas-Singh and Price won the elections for districts 2 and 3, respectively. The agenda also includes a General Health Status Update from Imperial County Director of Public Health, Jeanette Angulo.
Also, the board will consider requests by Director of Human Resources and Risk Management Rodolfo Aguayo to increase the minimum wage to several employees costing the county close to $200,000. The increase is in compliance with the State California minimum wage requirement effective January 1, 2025, and the State of California Senate Bill 525 minimum wage requirement effective January 1, 2025 to specific healthcare employees. The agenda includes a public hearing at 11 a.
m. to adopt a resolution authorizing the Imperial County Workforce and Economic Development the submittal of a grant application for $1.8 million under the 2024 Community Development Grant.
Under consent calendar, the Board of Supervisors would approve $1,600 for the Heber Community Advisory Committee for the purchase of an outdoor message board message center, $1,000 to the Central Union High School robotics team for expenses related to the international robotics competition, $500 to Dogwood Elementary School for expenses related to the Father and Daughter Dance, as well as $2,000 to Dogwood Elementary School for expenses related to Circle of Friends inclusion program. Also, the board will consider approving $10,000 to the Imperial Valley College Foundation, $1,500 to the Seeley Community Advisory Committee, and $200 to the Hidalgo Society for expenses related to the annual Christmas bike, toy, and backpack drive..
