The eighth round of the Super Rugby Pacific season begins on Friday with the Chiefs hosting the Reds in Hamilton, with kick-off at 7.05pm. Saturday brings a full slate, with Moana Pasifika hosting the Waratahs at 2.
05pm, before the Crusaders take on the Fijian Drua in Suva at 4.35pm. The Blues then host the Hurricanes in Auckland at 7.
05pm, with the Highlanders visiting the Western Force at 9.35pm to complete the round. Blues team to face the Hurricanes All Blacks prop Ofa Tu’ungafasi will miss the rest of the Blues’ season due to a neck injury which will require surgery to rehabilitate.
The side will, however, welcome back a host of injured players for this weekend’s clash against the Hurricanes, including captain Patrick Tuipulotu and first five-eighths Beauden Barrett, who will both start. Hookers Kurt Eklund and Ricky Riccitelli will make their returns to the match day squad, with the former getting the start, midfielder AJ Lam back at second five-eighths, Anton Segner back at blindside flanker, with fellow loose forward Adrian Choat on the bench..
