Wigan Warriors are the most successful club of the past five seasons in terms of Super League points accumulated, edging out St Helens. St Helens' disappointing sixth-placed finish in 2024 means that they are trailing their rivals over the five-season timespan, in a table that gives an idea of how clubs have performed over a sustained recent period, in which the coronavirus pandemic started early on, with Wigan's recent excellence rewarded. The table takes into account regular-season games - and, even when play-off results are added, if a win was counted as two points, there is no difference to any of the clubs' positions in the table for total points accumulated.

Hull Kingston Rovers are in sixth place after an upturn in fortunes in recent times while Hull FC are 10th after going on a downward spiral in terms of ladder position since 2020. Catalans Dragons also had a relatively troubled season in 2024, finishing one place below Saints this year, but they are comfortably third in the table over the period that includes the 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 Super League campaigns. Warrington are fourth in the five-season table after recently achieving a third-placed finish in the Super League table for the third time in those five seasons.

Leeds Rhinos and Hull Kingston Rovers are two clubs with very little separating them over the past five seasons, in fifth and sixth positions respectively. Leeds have 127 points from 122 games while Hull KR have 124 from 118 games. Clubs have played inconsistent amounts of games following the pandemic disrupting the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

Rovers have a marginally better points per game average than Leeds in this period. And while Leeds have consistently had mid-table finishes in this period, Rovers have made up for a poor 2020 by building as a club and peaking recently. Next on the list are Salford Red Devils, Huddersfield Giants and Castleford Tigers - meaning that Hull FC are down in 10th place.

Hull FC have followed their 2020 season finish of sixth, by subsequently having finishes of eighth, ninth, tenth and eleventh. Leigh are another club on the up recently but they are next on the list because of previously either not being in Super League or struggling in its table. Wakefield, Toulouse and London are lower down in the five-season table.

Leigh would jump higher if the table was judged on points per game - while Hull FC would drop to 11th. Most regular-season Super League points gained in past five seasons 1. Wigan 178 points from 123 games (1.
