Patrick Mahones and the Kansas City Chiefs will go after their third straight NFL title in Super Bowl 59 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Co. defeated the Eagles two years ago to kick off their latest dominant run.

The Chiefs downed the San Francisco 49ers last year to claim their third title in a five-year span. Both teams are not strangers to the Big Game. The Chiefs are appearing in their fifth Super Bowl in six years, while the Eagles are back in the Super Bowl for the third time since 2018.

Super Bowl Prize Money Each member of the winning team will take home $171,000. Each player on the losing side will be awarded $96,000, per the NFL collective bargaining agreement. A handful of players likely have Super Bowl bonuses attached to their contracts as well, but those are the numbers given to every player on the roster.

Game Preview Mahomes and the Chiefs won the last two Super Bowls by tight margins. The Chiefs beat the Eagles by three points in a high-scoring affair in Super Bowl 57 and then defeated the 49ers in overtime in Super Bowl 58. Close games have been a recent trend in the NFL's championship tilt.

The last three Super Bowls were each decided by three points. Kansas City's first win in the Mahomes era came by 11 points over the 49ers in Super Bowl 54. The Chiefs' triumph in Miami was part of a four-year stretch in which the Super Bowl was decided by eight or more points.

The February 9 event will be held in New Orleans. It is a record eighth time hosting for the Superdome. It's been 12 years since the last Super Bowl in the Big Easy.

The Baltimore Ravens won the Harbaugh Bowl against the 49ers in that contest. Both the Chiefs and Eagles have played one Super Bowl in New Orleans in their franchise histories. The Eagles lost back in 1981, while the Chiefs won Super Bowl 4 at Tulane Stadium, which hosted two Super Bowls.

If you add in those two games, Sunday will be the 10th time New Orleans hosted the Super Bowl as a city..
