Sunsets recently shared their refreshed menu and culinary direction for the waterfront restaurant boasting a bright, playful interior with panoramic views of Shem Creek from both the upstairs and downstairs dining areas and porches. New items at the creekside bar and restaurant include a new section of appetizers like lobster and crab Dip, grouper bites, Buffalo shrimp, and fried pickles. The Raw & Steamed section of the menu adds steamed oysters, Oysters Rockefeller, steamed mussels, and a crabby bucket with steamed crab leg pieces in Old Bay seasoning with lemon to the already popular offerings like raw oysters, Tuna Poke, peel and eat shrimp, and crab legs.
Guests will also enjoy an expanded selection of tacos from the traditional fried fish and blackened shrimp to the more adventurous Buffalo chicken and fried lobster tacos, all served with citrus slaw, pico de gallo and queso fresco. Sushi is made fresh to order and now served both upstairs and downstairs, including Nikkei Burritos. A hearty bowl of Blackened Pasta with bacon, tomato and mushrooms in a Cajun cream sauce with choice of protein and ribeye and fries round out the new entrees.
Sunsets is a scratch kitchen that sources fish locally and makes the majority of its sauces, soups, and spice blends in house. “We are very excited for these additions to our menu to provide a laid back, approachable, but chef-crafted option on Shem Creek,” said Andrew Izrael, general manager of Sunsets. “Whether you’re looking for a night out with scenic views or coming off the boat for casual food and drinks, Sunsets has the ideal atmosphere and offerings to match your vibe.
