Bollywood actor Sunny Deol recently graced News18’s Rising Bharat Summit 2025, during which he talked about his upcoming projects, working with Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, and also answered the audience’s questions. When asked how he balances politics and acting together, Sunny shared that he is no longer involved in politics, and explained that he found it difficult to maintain a balance with other aspects of his life.
He said that every person has a limit, and realizing that politics wasn’t the right fit for him, he decided to step away from the political scene. While speaking at the Rising Bharat Summit 2025, Sunny Deol said, “Khair, main abhi politics mein nahi hu iss waqt. Tha.

(Every person has a limit, knowing where and what suits them. So, I’m back to where I started)." For the unversed, Sunny Deol forayed into politics in 2019 after he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
He contested from the Gurdaspur constituency in Punjab and won with a significant margin. Sunny Deol announced his decision to not seek re-election in 2024, stating that he is not suited for politics and wants to focus on acting. Meanwhile, when asked whether he would consider representing Punjab again in politics, Sunny Deol said in Punjabi that wherever he is, he’s fighting for the country as a whole.
When asked if he would like to return to Punjab, Sunny Deol shared that he has visited many times even after stepping away from politics. He said, “Mera dil aur dimaag Punjab mein hai" — expressing how deeply rooted he feels in the state. Sunny Deol is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film ‘Jaat’ which will release in theatres on April 10.
