Community Joins Forces to Support Local Sheriffs RENO, Nev. , March 13, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The Support Our Sheriffs Foundation is thrilled to announce the successful launch of its inaugural event, held on March 11 at the Western States Sheriffs Association Annual Conference in Reno . The kick-off event, attended by more than one hundred community members, county Sheriffs and their staff, and business leaders, marked the beginning of an exciting journey to support and strengthen our local sheriff departments.
The evening commenced with a welcome from Foundation Board Chairman Dan O'Donnell who shared the mission and vision of the Support Our Sheriffs Foundation. "Our goal is to ensure that our sheriffs have the resources they need to keep our communities safe," said O'Donnell. The event featured comments from National Sheriffs Association President and Canyon County, Idaho Sheriff Kieran Donahue who spoke of the important mission of those who were called to law enforcement and the need to support those individuals.
"The mission of the Support Our Sheriffs Foundation is to help create a future where county Sheriffs and their staff are fully equipped with the tools and support needed to effectively serve and safeguard their communities," said Sheriff Donahue. Former Pinal County, Arizona Sheriff and Executive Director of the Support Our Sheriffs Foundation, Mark Lamb , described how the Foundation is set up to assist Sheriff's offices across the country. "The Foundation will provide essential resources, training, and programs that enhance the effectiveness and safety of those who serve and protect us," said Sheriff Lamb.
"Importantly, the Foundation will also provide financial support to the families of fallen Sheriffs, their deputies, and employees throughout the nation." Sheriff Lamb thanked those in attendance for making the kickoff a success, stating the event helped lay a strong foundation for future activities and campaigns by the Support Our Sheriffs Foundation.
