The police were called to St Mary's Road in Ramsey at around 6am on Thursday (April 24). Emergency services attended the scene alongside specialist teams.

They searched the vehicle and confirmed nobody was inside. The police are investigating how the car ended up in the water. The police have reported that the road will likely need to be closed to recover the vehicle.

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Police said: "We were called at about 6am this morning (24 April) with reports of a car submerged in water on St Mary’s Road, Ramsey. Emergency services attended and specialist teams searched the vehicle, nobody was found inside. "An investigation into the circumstances surrounding how the car came to be in the water is ongoing.
