Subis District Council to fix damaged road, bridge to Rh Nor Ebit

Rosey (fifth right) and her entourage pose for a photo call with the longhouse residents during the site visit.MIRI (April 13): The Subis District Council will assume responsibility for repairing the severely damaged road and bridge leading to Rumah Nor Ebit, following a site visit by Bekenu assemblywoman Datuk Rosey Yunus.The visit on Friday was prompted by residents’ concerns over deteriorating infrastructure, which had been impacted by flash floods earlier in February.

“The bridge has been declared as unsafe for all vehicles, and two key sections of the access road were found to have large potholes and structural damage near a culvert,” she said.Rosey, who also serves as the deputy minister for Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development, emphasised that any future development in the area must be carefully reviewed, as it is located near Niah National Park, a Unesco World Heritage Site.“Due to the extent of the damage, the matter has been handed over to the Subis District Council for further assessment, including a full site survey and cost estimation,” she said.
